JAKARTA WASTE MANAGEMENT PROJECT FOCUSED ON RDF

Jakarta – The Jakarta waste management project is now focused on RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) processing, as agreed by the team initiated by the Indonesian Community Care Movement (GMPI) as the managing organization, with a committee responsible for administration and management.

A coordination meeting of the GMPI board with Investors led by financier *Mr. H. Yata Sulaiman, who openly told participants that he wants to share with the community for waste management, he said at his residence on Tuesday evening (15/9).

He emphasized to the candidates for Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, to select a waste management committee that is able to manage nine professional consultants who attended according to their respective expertise to become a solid team.

The future waste project requires a lot of manpower because the waste we accommodate and sort is bulk waste, therefore sorting personnel is needed to obtain organic, inorganic, and residual waste.

As a pilot project for waste management, the team has determined Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta, which already has raw materials available, 300-500 tons/day, said Herman, Head of RW 07, Serengseng Sawah Village, Jagakarsa District.

The waste under Herman as Head of RW 07 with details, waste collected from *156 Neighborhood Associations (RW)*, with *56 sorters* waiting for waste with their members, collecting from house to house.

According to Herman, from *565 RT (Neighborhood Units)*, under coordination there are 156 RW, 6 Villages in Jagakarsa District, 300-500 tons of waste can be collected and managed by staff for fertilizer, fuel, and others.

The collected waste is sorted by residents, GMPI has processed waste into 30 tons from every 100 tons and we are ready at any time. Waste divided into several elements joining the GMPI team, organic and inorganic waste sorted into fertilizer and others.

Secretary General of DPP GMPI Drs. Risman Thomas, MAPP as the initiator, mobilizes members to assist Herman who is experienced in managing waste, preparing waste with his 30 members.

Drs. Risman Thomas, MAPP who mobilized GMPI members before the closure of the Bantar Gebang Bekasi landfill was determined in early August this year, has prepared his members according to the expectations of Investors who will use GERMAN WASTE TO ENERGY TECHNOLOGY.

In Jakarta waste processing activities, we will invite financiers and entrepreneurs from Germany as partners, said Yata Sulaiman, because he is a graduate from a German university, both Bachelor and Master degrees obtained from studying in that country.

The GMPI team has sent a letter to Governor Pramono Anung, requesting guidance if there is idle land that can be used or waste that can be utilized as a partner for processing waste into fuel.

In addition to the land needed, it is also planned to accommodate waste in eight UPRS I-VIII in five administrative city areas of Jakarta. The land available from the Local Government is contracted for 5 years after purchase, so said the investor, first we contract an MOU with the DKI Jakarta Government.

The land currently needed for the initial pilot project is 5-10 hectares, located if possible in South Jakarta to Depok city, for a 5-year contract period and subsequent purchase, repeated the Financier who has prepared operating funds of 500 Billion – 1 Trillion Rupiah for the GMPI team.

The Emergency Waste Team is ready to manage waste with partners together with consultants from Germany. Advisor Mr. H. Yata Sulaiman, a graduate of America, Germany and England as an investor, is ready to support the DKI Jakarta Government program in overcoming waste.

The driving force for Jakarta’s waste emergency, initiated by GMPI, has received a welcome from the *Environmental Agency which has been coordinated long ago and also from Investors interested in the fast-moving team work and participants who are candidates for chairman and management of the waste emergency which will be meeting on *Friday evening (18/9).
